Recipe for Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Balls

Super simple, protein-packed energy bites in LESS THAN 5 MINUTES!! Your family will love these Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Balls.

These are a household favorite, and never last more than a few days. We use oats as the primary base, providing a slow-release carbohydrate source for the sustainable energy. Good, quality oats should be gluten free. We combine in a large bowl 2 cups oats with the rest of dry ingredients including 1/4 cup chocolate powder (optional), 1/3 cup chocolate chips (feel free to experiment- we use sugar free, but white chocolate or cinnamon chips are great options), 1/2 cup peanut butter powder (again, we use the sugar free PB fit), and 1/4 cup brown sugar or low-glycemic sugar substitute. Next, add in 1/2 cup protein powder of choice. We use unflavored Quest, but any will do— try mixing in different flavors like peanut butter, chocolate, or vanilla for different taste. Add in 1/4 cup agave nectar, then mix a milk of choice (ie, almond, soy, oat, or standard cow’s milk) until your mixture becomes gooey and thick. This is usually about 3/4 to 1 cup of milk. The non-cow’s milk varieties typically require closer to 1 cup. Mix by hand or in electric mixture, then roll into small balls and place to wax paper. Place in refrigerator until firm, then take out and enjoy as desired!
