Dwi Pada Viparita Dandasana Fitness Challenge

Can you practice Wheel with straight arms and Headstand without strain? Then, you’re ready for this challenge! Upward Facing Two-Foot Staff Pose ( Sanskrit name: Dwi Pada Viparita Dandasana), stretches the entire front body and opens the chest. This pose requires intense body flexibility so please be mindful and patient knowing when you are ready to try this challenge. Once you are ready, it is a fantastic pose to try as it gives your whole body a stretch and an extra boost of energy. This is a great asana to incorporate in your yoga practice.

  • Warmup first with a few Sun Salutations
  • Come into Headstand
  • Take your time and ease your way slowly into Dwi Pada Viparita Dandasana
  • Come up into Urdhva Dhanurasana (Wheel Pose)
  • Relax back down and give your body some love in Apanasana pose (knees to chest)
