Week 2️⃣ Let’s get upside down! 💫

Why I ❤️ this pose:  “Crow was the first challenge pose that I ever tried, and to this day it’s still the pose that I turn to when I want to feel strong, confident, and challenged.  There’s alway something new to tweak, no matter how many times I get into it and that is why it’s still a staple in my yoga practice.”  

Crow Pose strengthens your core, upper back, chest, arms, shoulders, forearms, and your wrists.  It teaches you to create connections between your arms and knees, abdominals and spine, mind and body.  Remember to listen to your body, have patience, and enjoy the practice 🙏🏻

❤️ Begin in a squat with your knees wide apart.  Your feet may be together or apart.  

❤️ Place your hand on the floor 6-8 inches in front of your feed and shoulder-distance apart.  If you have tight shoulders, your hands can be a little wider.

❤️ Straighten your legs slightly and place your knees as high up onto your triceps as possible, toward your armpits.

❤️ Shift your weight forward into your hands, leaning the weight of your knees into the backs of your arms, so your feet float off the floor.  Bring your toes together and pull your belly in toward your spine to give you a sense of lightness.

❤️ After a breathe or two, slowly lean forward and lower the top of your head to the floor, coming into Tripod Headstand.

❤️ Enjoy holding Tripod Headstand for several breaths, then lower your knees back down to your triceps.  SLOWLY shift a little bit of weight to the heels of your palms and lift your head off the floor, holding crow once again.  Keep your abs engaged, feet together, and knees squeezing in.  

❤️ Try to come back up into Tripod Headstand and down into Crow as many times as you can.
